Finalists can look forward to business coaching, networking and plenty of attention from their target group – winners will receive a comprehensive advertising package

Frankfurt am Main, 02/10/2019. On June 24, 2020, the Federal Association of HR Managers (BPM), Quadriga University, Human Resources Manager Magazine and the hkp/// group will come together to host the HR Start-Up Award for the fifth time. Again, the winner will be chosen during the HR Management Conference with more than 1,500 participants in Berlin. Entrepreneurs have the opportunity to register their companies for the coveted HR innovation prize on the award website (www.hrstartupaward.com) until March 29, 2020.

Finalists can expect a pitch at one of the largest HR events in the German-speaking world as well as two days of networking with their specific target group. They will also have the opportunity to benefit from business coaching offered by the judges and to present themselves at exclusive BPM start-up events and therefore to their potential customers. In addition to this, the award winner will be presented with a cross-media advertising package to the value of approx. 5,000 EUR from Quadriga Media to increase awareness in the HR market and beyond.

HR Start-up Award: Closer to Business!

“Five years of the HR Start-up Award signify a passion for HR and technology, exciting pitches and innovations, which offer real added value for employees and companies,” explains Dr. Elke Eller, co-initiator and co-chair of the judging panel, and TUI’s HR Director. “We are really pleased to have gained a strong, experienced voice in HR with BPM President Inga Dransfeld-Haase this year as well as a passionate expert in digital innovation with Marie-Eve Schröder from Facebook as members of the judging panel. We would like to thank Angelika Gifford for her dedicated judging work, which she will not be able to continue due to her new challenge. She has contributed significant impulses from which the work of the judges and the start-ups have benefited,” says Eller.

Inga Dransfeld-Haase, President of the Federal Association of HR Managers and Head of Corporate Functions at Nordzucker AG, emphasizes, “Closer to business – that isn’t just a tagline, it’s what the HR Start-up Award aspires to. We provide start-ups and their innovations with increased awareness and initiate sustained, forward-thinking dialog with HR managers. I’m really looking forward to doing just that!”

Michael H. Kramarsch, Managing Partner of the hkp/// group and together with Elke Eller award initiator and chairperson of the jury, looks back on a small success story: “After five years, the HR Start-up Award itself isn’t a start-up anymore. During this time, we have been able to offer innovative companies a platform for their solutions and so created added value for HR start-ups as well as for company HR departments.”

The Judges

The HR Start-up Award judging panel, which includes experienced experts and HR decision makers, selects the finalists, who will present pitches at the HR Management Conference, competing to gain the support of the professional audience present. The panel members are:

Award winners and innovation categories

With a total of 46 submissions in the categories of HR Analytics, Learning, Recruiting, Communication and Feedback as well as Staffing and Benefit Management, the 2019 award registered a record number of applicants. It also once again reflected key developments and the increasing diversity of digital solutions in all areas of HR management.

Last year, the audience was won over by the engaging pitch presented by Katrin Pape, CEO of Vote2Work. She clearly demonstrated how her tool enables self-determined, flexible planning of personnel deployment and therefore how the New Work concept also facilitates shift work in the blue-collar sector. Previous winners include a machine learning solution by everskill, a platform for workplace health promotion by HUMANOO as well as software provision for collaborative working by Tandemploy.

The HR Start-up Award was created by the hkp/// group, together with the Federal Association of Human Resource Managers (BPM), Quadriga University and Human Resource Manager Magazine to promote innovation in Human Resources Management and to develop closer networking between start-ups and already established companies.
